About Us

      Smith Auction Services, LLC was a dream come true for Joe and Kimbra Smith. Joe being a graduate of Vincennes University 1981, IUPUI Real Estate Salesman's Course 1985, Indiana College of Auctioneering 1986, and Midway Auction School 2002. Kimbra being a graduate of Midway Auction School 2001, past employee and instructor of 80 Hour Pre - Licensing Course, Certified Appraiser Course and Continued Education.
      The auction house, we thought, was our dream come true, but as you know dreams and life changes fast. Late in 2009 Kimbra was diagnosed with breast cancer. During the year long fight with the disease we seen our priorities and interests changing.
      Now, we have sold the building but Smith Auction Services, LLC will continue to offer onsite auction services, and auctioneer education. We are going back to where we began - the home office!
      The Smith's offer their knowledge of auctions at public speaking engagements throughout the year. Having attended and held thousands of auctions they speak on topics of How, What, Where and When to buy and sell at auction. Plus, a bit of auction law and ethics.
      In 2006, Smith Auction Services, LLC was approved by the state of Indiana as an Auctioneer Continuing Education Class sponsor. We have offered Auctioneer Continuing Education classes in several locations throughout the state of Indiana and Custom Classes as well. In 2008 we were approved by the Indiana Auctioneers Commission to offer the Auctioneer 80 Hour Pre- Licensing class.
